Welcome back, Daniel Bruce! We look forward to watching you love and encourage the students of Travelers Rest High School. The school is an International Baccalaureate school. “I am a proud product of this community and I’m going to do everything humanly possible to ensure that this school is recognized as one of the BEST in SC!” Daniel says. Travelers Rest High School is a public high school in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. There’s a long list of former classmates who would describe Daniel as kid-friendly. As an adult, all of my jobs included working with children.” Had he not gone into education, he would have likely studied to become a social worker. “I always wanted to work with young people. His passion for working with youth is evident. He’s worked as a special education aide, teacher, coach, assistant principal, and principal. Bruce comes with over fourteen years of experience with Greenville County Schools. One of his goals is for “TRHS to be a model that all other schools in the state will aspire to emulate.” What an amazing outlook! When Daniel isn’t taking in a sporting event or extracurricular activity to support fellow Devildogs, you can find him working hard at our beloved school. I’m pretty sure that earns him another degree! I don’t know if you caught that, but he lives with five women. He loves traveling with his family on vacations. With a wife and four daughters, Daniel is definitely outnumbered at home. He later earned a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Tennessee Technological University. Oh, and being very tall! Probably what helped land him in the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.Īfter graduating from Travelers Rest High School, Daniel earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Wingate University. I remember him loving sports and excelling in academics.

He was genuine and sincere – one of the good guys. I can proudly say, “I knew him when.”ĭuring our high school years, Daniel was everybody’s friend. No alum of the Travelers Rest High School Class of ’95 will be surprised to hear that Daniel Bruce has returned to their alma mater as its new administrator. Normally, writers take a few liberties and embellish a bit when featuring a hometown boy.
